The DVSA car driving theory test has 2 sections which are the multiple choice questions and hazard perception test. The test can be taken at your local DSA theory test centre in Doncaster.
Before you can book you practical driving test you will need to pass the theory firstly.
Multiple choice questions section
This section contains 50 multiple choice questions of various driving topics. Using a touch screen computer you will need to select your answers. You can watch a demo tutorial which explains the test and practice some demo questions beforehand if you wish. 5 of these questions are based on a case study.
The test will last 57 minutes and to pass this section you will need to correctly answer 43, or more out of 50 questions.
Hazard perception section
The hazard perception test contains 14 short video clips watched on a computer screen from a drivers viewpoint. The test has 15 possible major hazards to identify and you should respond by clicking the computer mouse. For each major hazard you can score between 0 – 5 points with a total of 75 point available. You will have an option to take a practices session beforehand.
To pass the hazard perception section you will need to score 44, or more out of 75 available points.
